The stability of the indicators characterizing the agricultural sector of the Republic of Armenia is due to the competitiveness of the main production units and the efficiency of the organization of production processes, as well as the characteristics of agriculture that limit the competitiveness of the industry, which in turn negatively affects the competitiveness of rural farms and its increase.
The purpose of the article is to, by analyzing the value chain of milk and dairy products in the Republic of Armenia, emphasize the place and role of primary production units, justifying the need for integrated approaches to measures and increasing competitiveness. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: to analyze the milk production value chain, the activities of the main participants in it, as well as existing problems in the production link of the value chain and ways to solve them.
Ensuring the competitiveness of rural farms involves identifying and highlighting the main problems and proposing solutions, therefore, the value chain of milk and dairy products was considered as the object of study. At the same time, assessing the role of agriculture in the value chain, as well as adjusting and stabilizing expected income levels, continue to be on the agenda.
Therefore, the development and adoption of the “Law on Regulating the Milk Procurement Process” in the Republic of Armenia is particularly important, within the framework of which a permanent representative commission endowed with relevant powers and functions will be established.
