CONSTITUTIONAL CONTENT AND OPERATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PRINCIPLE OF TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF THE STATE

Abstract
The work is devoted to the study of the problem of the constitutional content and the operational significance of the principle of territorial integrity of the state, one of the key topics of the theory of Constitutional and international law. Within the scope of this study, the research focus centers on the close interconnection between the principle of state territorial integrity and state sovereignty, as well as the constitutional rights and freedoms of the individual and citizen. Subsequently, the issues concerning the constitutional content of the principle of the territorial integrity of the state were examined through a systematic analysis of various provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia. At the same time, the historical and legal analysis of the problem of the constitutional consolidation of territorial integrity in the constitutional processes of the Third Republic of Armenia was touched upon. Summarizing the results of the systemic analysis of constitutional law theory and the constitutional norms of the Republic of Armenia, the study concludes that territorial integrity encompasses a specific set of elements. It is conceptualized not only as a constitutional principle subject to state preservation and protection, but also as a guarantee for ensuring state sovereignty, which remains inextricably linked to the defense, security, and inviolability of the state’s borders.
