Abstract
This article discusses contemporary issues related to the role of economic diplomacy in improving the external environment and industrial development Recent years provide many examples of new trends in industrial intervention by governments in developed countries. These countries are alarmed by the rapidly declining share of the manufacturing industry and the irreversible loss of knowledge and skills associated with it. Based on our analysis we may conclude that diplomacy, as a specific type of activity of states in the international arena, has a long history dating back centuries. Despite the history, there are several approaches to the definition of diplomacy. Clarifying its content, we come to the conclusion that it significantly reflects the essence of the phenomenon of diplomacy as a special type of activity of states in the international arena. The interdependence of the world leads to an increase in the importance of diplomacy, which is especially carried out at the highest levels. The role of multilateral and public diplomacy is especially increasing. This requires diplomats, among other tasks, to be able to speak to a large audience, conduct a reasoned debate, and persuade and win public opinion in a foreign country. The study of the above-mentioned problems once again emphasizes the need to activate the role of economic diplomacy at the micro, meso, macro and regional levels of the economy. Moreover, it is also important in raising the international rankings of Armenia’s economy.
